The first location of a national franchise, Capriotti’s Sandwich Shop on Union Street is where the magic began. Opened by Lois Margolet in 1976, this founding restaurant is home to the Capriotti dream of capturing the hearts of “real turkey lovers” with finely prepared sandwiches and slow roasted meats. Lois and her brother began the business roasting one turkey a night, and as demand grew, that number swelled to twelve a night—now that’s a lot of birds! Capriotti’s menu is loaded with an array of sandwich selections, from simple sammies stuffed with homemade turkey or roast beef, to vegetarian sandwich options like meatless hamburgers or eggplant parm, to special creations like the Capastrami, a sub roll filled with grilled pastrami, melted Swiss cheese, Russian dressing, and cole slaw. But your Capriotti’s experience just won't be complete if you haven't tried “The Bobbie,” voted “The Greatest Sandwich in America” by AOL and Lemondrop. It’s a mouthwatering mix of turkey, cranberry, stuffing, and mayo on white or wheat bread—a taste of Thanksgiving any time of year!
Capriotti's has locations all over the U.S., so click here to find out where else you can satisfy your sandwich craving!
