If you’re in the mood for Japanese food, why not go to a place that has food so good, it wins awards? Welcome to Lansdale's Osaka Japanese Steak House. Zagat has rated Osaka Japanese Steak House as an ideal place for food and service. While the dining room isn’t spacious, you’ll still be made comfortable. Come for lunch and slide up to the sushi bar, where every order is made fresh, every time, and includes Miso Soup and Seaweed Salad. Between 5 p.m. and 6:30 p.m., it’s Hibachi Happy Hour at the Osaka Steak House, when you can get sake, beer, or wine and a nice appetizer for 15 percent off. And for dinner, the selection of sushi, sashimi, and teriyaki is surpassed only by the steak, seafood, and chicken entrees coming off the hibachi. Looking for fun? Catch live jazz at Osaka every Wednesday night.

When you walk into Conshohocken’s Spring Mill Café, you’ll realize you’re in a place with history. The building was built in 1831 as the post office and general store for Spring Mill, and over the years served as a candy store, knitting store, antique store and more. It was transformed into an exceptional French restaurant in 1978, starting with a tiny kitchen and just five tables serving lunch only. Over the years, it’s expanded rapidly, and now under the direction of Chef Michele Haines it’s grown into one of the most popular restaurants in the area. Haines hails from the Touraine region of France, and she brings classic family recipes to devoted diners here. With ingredients sourced from local farmers and co-ops, everything is fresh and delicious. Some of the menu’s most successful items include the homemade country pate, the braised rabbit in mustard cream with seasonal vegetables, and the exceptional pot au feu, but it’s all well worth trying.

Wishing all moms a wonderful day filled with much love and happiness!

Considered to be one of Montgomery County’s best parks, Green Lane Park boasts a spectacular 3,400 acres and three gorgeous lakes for all kinds of recreational activities. Miles of nature trails wend through the property, appropriate for hikers, bikers and horseback riders equally. The Reservoir is zoned for both boating and swimming, and there are boat rentals available at Deep Creek Lake as well. Recreation areas have charcoal grills for public use, picnic tables, and other amenities. In the summer, various community organizations use the park for a number of festivals, including free outdoor movie screenings, concerts, and more. In the winter, there is still plenty to see and do here, as trails open up for cross-country skiing and the lakes form a very thick crust of ice perfect for skating. Pets are welcome if kept on a leash, but it is prohibited to let them into the lakes or creek areas.
