With two fabulous locations, one in the Hamptons and one on the Upper East Side, Levain Bakery has treats for everyone, including some of the largest chocolate chip cookies in all of New York City. Opened in 1995 by two Ironman triathletes trying to concoct the perfect high-calorie treat for after intense training sessions, Levain Bakery uses completely preservative and additive free ingredients in their four fabulous varieties: Chocolate Chip Walnut, Dark Chocolate Chocolate Chip, Oatmeal Raisin, and Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Chip. Beyond ginormous cookies, Levain also serves up a variety of breads, scones, tarts, and other baked goodies you won't be able to resist. Levain doesn't publish their recipes anywhere so you won't be able to make them at home—but since imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, Levain has compiled some copy cat recipes on their website that people have concocted to try and recreate that one-of-a-kind cookie!
