“Bob & I have been coming here since our children were in high school. We would never consider staying anywhere else. The staff is great; from check-in to the wait staff in the restaurant, to the maid service, (Lori keeps them on their toes!) Five years ago while we were here on vacation, my father who lived with us passed away. We left here in such disarray we had to return because we just left the room without packing. We returned the next day with a few extra people, (some friends.) We all went for breakfast and the hotel picked up the check, we were amazed. What they did cheered us up so much. We love coming here; the staff treats us like family.”

As a child, Nancy Pollner stayed with at the Port-O-Call Hotel with her mother and grandparents shortly after it was built in 1966. Flash forward to 2006 and Phil and Nancy returned to the Port-O-Call for the first of many visits. Whatever the season, the Pollners always look forward to some relaxing time spent in their favorite room – the Superior Ocean Front (or the Penthouse, of course).

In the summer, the first thing they enjoy upon check in is stepping out on their balcony and breathing in the wonderful sea air. Although the off season is probably their favorite: “It is less crowded and we can still enjoy the shops and the boardwalk. If the weather is stormy, our comfortable room is always clean and well stocked – it’s like our home away from home.”

Phil and Nancy are looking forward to their next stay later this month when they bring down their children and grandchildren for a great family getaway.
